Open to Mansfield Residents Roland Green Preschool is offering parent workshops on the following Tuesdays in March and April (see below). These will be held at the school, 29 Dean Street between the hours of 5 and 7 pm. Childcare will be provided and light refreshments will be offered at these workshops. Workshops offered March 10th - Overview of Roland Green's Social Emotional framework and practices with Margaret Olem, LICSW. Margaret will review the Pyramid Model Practices of Social Emotional Learning. March 24th - Child Development and Family Support presented by psychologist Stephanie Kina. Stephanie will discuss the social development of children and will model appropriate developmental interactions with children. April 7th - Pamela Ely from the ELY Center will discuss speech and language tips and support. April 14th and 28th - Cheryl Davis and Kara Petrucci, behavior specialists, will do a 2-part series on behavior management including visuals that you can use at home. Workshop Brochure Page 1.pdf Workshop Brochure Page 2.pdf PEER MODEL APPLICATION PROCESS FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR Roland Green Preschool is now accepting peer model applications for the 2020-2021 school year for Mansfield residents. Please note that the student must be three years old on or before Sept 1, 2020 and toilet trained to apply as a peer role model. A developmental screening process will be held in the spring for all eligible students. The Roland Green Preschool offers a developmental program for 3 to 5 year olds. The program is designed in an integrated setting where children with disabilities are educated along with their typically developing peers. Concepts are presented in a thematic approach and the program is individualized to meet the needs of each child, but also follows the Commonwealth of Massachusetts guidelines to provide a solid beginning for students when they enter Kindergarten. Multi-sensory and hands-on experiences provide learning opportunities in social/emotional, language, motor and cognitive areas. All sessions will be held Monday- Thursday. = No school on Fridays Program Options include: AM Session 8:30-11:00 PM Session 12:00-2:30 Full Day Session 8:30-2:30 Students will be screened and offered a placement based on their age, development and skill level. The Mansfield Public School District is committed to identifying children before their third birthday in order to provide early intervention services for three and four year old children. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2020 Children who live in Mansfield and will be 5 on or before September 1, 2015 are eligible to attend Kindergarten in the Fall of 2020. Families of Roland Green Preschool students DO NOT need to pre-register online OR attend the Registration and Health Interviews held in April. Any additional forms that are needed for kindergarten will be distributed to you through the Roland Green office this spring including a form with instructions for scheduling your child's Academic screening appointment. Incoming Kindergarten parents are invited to a Parent Orientation on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 pm in the Robinson School Cafeteria. Administration and staff will present information on Kindergarten, the Registration and Screening process and preparing your child for school. Items Preschool Children Need A change of clothes to be kept in school.Please label all items. Child size backpack, bag, or plastic bag with handles—to accompany child each day for items such as projects, paper, notices, etc. Snack: You are expected to pack your child's snack daily. Lists of recommended snacks are on page 9 REMINDER! Please label all of your child’s items. Sneakers – please send in sneakers if your child wears snow boots/rain boots to school.
